How it works: Sort the bag's three sides and the airline's three limits largest first, then compare side by side in the unit the airline publishes. Every side must be at or under its limit, and any published total (length + width + height) must also hold.

Measure the bag standing up, from the floor to the top of the retracted handle, from the front of the pockets to the back of the wheels. Manufacturers often quote the body without wheels, which is the single most common reason a "carry-on size" bag fails the sizer.
